Timothy Donald Cook is an American business executive. He joined Apple in March 1998 as senior vice president for worldwide operations, then became vice president for worldwide sales and operations. He later served as chief operating officer under co‑founder Steve Jobs. On August 24, 2011, after Jobs resigned, Cook was appointed chief executive officer of Apple.
