About Peace Pilgrim

She was also a mystic, pacifist and vegetarian activist. In 1952 she became the first woman to walk the whole Appalachian Trail in a single season. On January 1 1953 in Pasadena, California, she took the name Peace Pilgrim and began a 28‑year walk across the country, sharing her ideas about peace until she passed away during her seventh cross‑country trip.
