About Chogyam Trungpa
He was recognized by Tibetan Buddhists and other scholars as a preeminent teacher of Buddhism. In the West he became a major figure in spreading the tradition. Trungpa also served as the supreme abbot of the Surmang monasteries, was a tertön, and originated the Shambhala Buddhist tradition.
